Projecting Ric Flair and WWE Hall of Famers' Involvement at 'Old School' Raw
When the WWE goes live this week from Buffalo, New York, for this “Old School” edition of Raw, the excitement over the reported return of Hall of Famers (h/t WWE.com) has the WWE Universe in a frenzy.
Who do YOU want to see the most?
Former megastars and WWE Hall of Famers “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan will be attendance Monday, but what they will be doing is uncertain.
The WWE is on the road to WrestleMania 29, though, and the fans can rest assured that these legends will be used to further a storyline or two.
Prepare for an episode of Raw we’ll never forget.
“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan
While many of the stars the WWE will bring back Monday will have deeper stories attached to their appearances, Duggan will be there for no other reason than to get a pop for being an American hero or job to an anti-American like Jack Swagger.
The WWE Universe should expect Duggan to come out, rile the crowd up with his flag waving and get ready to cut a promo before Swagger’s music hits and the former world champion and his friend Zeb Colter hit the ring.
Colter can verbally run down Duggan just like he did Jim Ross on Monday’s Raw, and the final attack on Duggan will prompt Alberto Del Rio to hit the ring.
Expect Del Rio and Duggan to stand tall to end this segment.
“The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase
There is no doubt that anytime “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase is on WWE TV, it will be an interesting episode to say the least.
This time, though, DiBiase could play a huge role in an undercard development.
We have not seen DiBiase’s son Ted on television in months, and alongside former partner I.R.S. and his son Bo Dallas, The Million Dollar Man could help bring together a strong new tag team of Dallas and DiBiase.
Dallas and DiBiase could use their fathers’ connection to form their own bond, and it would add a strong face team to a faltering tag team division.
Despite The Million Dollar Man being a heel for the majority of his career, the pop he will receive upon his return will be enough to get this new tag team of Dallas and DiBiase over with the crowd.
Dusty Rhodes is one of the most eccentric wrestlers of all time, but the American Dream is also one of the most charismatic stars the WWE has ever seen. With his son Cody marred in nothingness right now, it’s time for Dusty to step in and show him how to swing.
Cody has been teasing his mustache for weeks—even going as far as dubbing it a love ‘stache—and Diva’s Champion Kaitlyn has been setting the stage for a possible relationship.
What these two potential love birds need is some Dusty in their lives.
Led by his smooth-talking father, Monday could be the night that Cody and Kaitlyn become a face couple. This storyline development could lead to an eventual feud between best friends Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow.
When the Nature Boy Ric Flair returns to WWE Raw this Monday, the long-time wrestling veteran will receive his prototypical pop for being one of the greatest of all time, but there is likely something much bigger planned for Flair.
The Miz needs Flair’s help to get over the Antonio Cesaro and United States Championship hump.
Cesaro has continued to retain the U.S. title by any means necessary—including cheating—and its about time The Miz learned how to even the odds via the dirtiest player in the game.
Flair already gave The Miz the rub of using the figure-four leg lock, but now the lessons learned in the subtle art of cheating could finally be what it takes to finally defeat Cesaro on the grandest stage of the all; WrestleMania 29.
