Dale Earnhardt Jr. Passes Big Test After Being Involved in Crash at Daytona
AVONDALE, Ariz. — Dale Earnhardt Jr. said he was concerned about the impact he had in Saturday’s Nationwide Series race at Daytona, making his second-place finish in Sunday’s Daytona 500 even more meaningful.
Earnhardt missed two races last year after suffering two concussions during a six-week stretch. He was involved in the frightening multicar crash on the final lap of the Nationwide race at Daytona International Speedway in which Kyle Larson’s car got airborne, tearing apart the catch fence, slinging car parts into the grandstands and injuring more than 30 fans.
