Panthers Watching Travel Issues in Realignment Proposal

CORAL SPRINGS — Thirteen months ago, the NHL and the NHL Players' Association battled over the league's proposed realignment plan.
The league, concerned that the Atlanta Thrashers never moved out of the Southeast Division when they became the Winnipeg Jets, didn't run into problems with the radical nature of the plan. However, the league didn't run it by the NHLPA in time for the players to vet it, and that caused friction.
