SANTA CLARA -- Alex Smith's career with the 49ers will end with a trade to the Kansas City Chiefs, multiple NFL sources told this news organization Wednesday.
Under terms of the deal, which can't be ratified until March 12, the 49ers would receive a second-round draft pick this year and a conditional third-round choice in 2014. The latter also could become a second-round pick based on Smith's playing time and Kansas City's success, a source said...
