Rory McIlroy Does Tiger Woods One Better with 2-Wedge Trick at Honda Classic
Rory McIlroy has thrown down the gauntlet, demanding Tiger Woods pick up his wedge or hybrid and delight us all with some golf juggling.
I think we can all be adult and admit fair-weather golf fans now see the landscape in two dimensions. There is Tiger Woods and there is Rory McIlroy, all others are but a peripheral blur.
While a good portion of us can't wait to welcome the field of Keegan Bradley, Dustin Johnson and others, there is already a friendly rivalry brewing between Woods and the young man from Northern Ireland.
So we should just forget debating the ridiculousness of comparing the two golfers and just thoroughly embrace it, especially if it means watching some trick-shot videos like this.
Sports Illustrated's Golf.com spotted this moment of levity ahead of Thursday's start to the 2013 Honda Classic at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
McIlroy starts juggling a golf ball on one wedge, much like his colleague Tiger Woods made famous in this Nike commercial.
Now we get a plus-one into the mix with an added wedge. Again, we would like Tiger to answer back in any way he might deem fit.
If the back-and-forth is going to include stirring play on the course as well as silly tricks in the otherwise uninteresting days leading up to a tournament, we are game.
