Mets Starting Rotation Set, But Backup Plan Still Uncertain

There is no suspense surrounding the Mets starting rotation’s composition this spring. Johan Santana, Jon Niese, Matt Harvey, Shaun Marcum and Dillon Gee make up the quintet manager Terry Collins will employ, barring injury, before Opening Day. Ideally, those five will start every fifth day for the entire 162-game schedule. But that is almost never the case.
