Kawhi Leonard was one of the Spurs’ better players on their 7-2 rodeo road trip, scoring in double-figures in eight on nine outings while averaging 15.5 points and 6.1 rebounds. The sleepy-eyed small forward did it with his customary lack of flair, his game-winner in Cleveland and the occasional breakaway dunk providing the only hint of sizzle to a game that is entirely grounded on fundamental principles. Indeed, Leonard is the prototype Spur, so blue collar that even Tim Duncan, the Big Fundamental himself, seems flashy in comparison.
