Playing Politics: Which UFC Star Is Being Overlooked for a Title Shot?
UFC matchmakers Joe Silva and Sean Shelby manage the promotion's roster of more than 400 fighters superbly, keeping matchups fresh and deserving fighters on an upward path to contention. But occasionally even the best among us miss a beat. After all, no man is perfect.
Luckily for Silva and Shelby, when they err, there are thousands of UFC fans willing to assist them by pointing out each and every mistake. The hardcores are helpful like that—as I often find out to my chagrin in the comments of my articles.
Now it's my turn to help. Because I believe the UFC has missed the mark in a major way. Johny Hendricks, a two-time national collegiate wrestling champion and power puncher extraordinaire, deserves a shot at Georges St-Pierre's welterweight gold.
Instead, that shot went to Nick Diaz, a man who actually lost his last fight. Unfair? Let me know in the comments.
