It happened 25 years ago today. The Quebec Nordiques where playing the Montreal Canadiens at the Montreal Forum.

It was game six of the playoffs between the two teams. That night the Habs eliminated the Nordiques, but the game wasn't remembered for that.

It all started when Dale Hunter of the Nordiques nailed Montreal goaltender Steve Penney, but things were still calm.

The excitment started at the end of the second period when both teams left their respective benches. It didn't take long for the players to drop the gloves and start a fight.

The fights continued at the start of the third period as well. For 30 minutes, players from both teams were fighting each other.

That night a total of 250 minutes of penalties were given.
