When the Rockets were draining 3s and the lead was swelling, things might have seemed right. They weren’t.
They were shooting all those 3s because they were not getting much of anything else. They could hit plenty, taking the lead to as much as 17 and putting in 19, second-most in franchise history. But unable to keep up their early pace or get enough stops to make the lead last, the Rockets found themselves trying to win the final minutes of a game they nearly put away much earlier.
