On the heels of WWE inviting Glenn Beck to be a guest on Raw, it appears that WWE has taken it one step further. Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger have released a video that is more or less calling out Beck.
In the video, which is posted on TMZ.com, Swagger and Colter invite Beck to "call us stupid to our face." The video itself is really well done and just shows how great of a talker Colter is. The video opens with Colter and Swagger cutting an actual WWE-style promo. The video then widens out and the two go into their rant about Beck.
The WWE has done a great job of keeping in front of this. As a PG program, it would seem as though they do not want the negative publicity that a man like Beck could shine their way. In a matter of days following his comments, WWE has flipped the script if you will. WWE has taken a small story that would have been negative and turned it into a pretty big story. So far it would appear that WWE has also made this story take on a positive light.
The only question that remains is, what will Beck do now? Would Beck be daring enough to put himself live on Raw, where anything could happen?
Well it would seem the answer is no.
According to Madeleine Morgenstern of the TheBlaze.com, Beck just responded to the WWE offer saying:
Unfortunately I am currently booked doing anything else.
I am sure that we have not heard the last of this back and forth between the WWE and Beck. If there is one positive thing to take from all of this, it might be that Swagger still has a pulse. With all of Swagger's legal issues, the fact that he was in this video could be a good sign.
Maybe Beck will unintentionally save Swagger's career.
