NHL, Stanley Cup, 2008 NHL Playoffs

I am really intrigued by the process of the NHL playoffs being re-tooled. This idea comes from the an article found on Yahoo.com.

I feel the idea is amazing, but I would change one thing about McKeon's thoughts.

I would change the five-game playoff series to a one-game series. I know this is crazy to put an entire year in the balance of one game, but how exciting would that be!!??

As another plus side, the owners of the extra four teams that got bounced (two from each conference) would get some more money that would not have been there. The downside to that is the losing owners would complain about not getting their money from the usual minimum of two games in a seven-game series.

I understand my point of view is not super in-depth, but allows more comments to be made. Let me hear your thoughts!
