The first time Josh Thole caught R.A. Dickey, he thought it might be his last.

In the spring of 2010, a collection of front-office officials from the New York Mets gathered in the bullpen to watch Dickey throw his knuckleball. He was already ticketed for Triple-A Buffalo, but the suits wanted a demonstration from the 35-year-old journeyman with the trick pitch.
