Evanston, Ill. - Wisconsin's task was clear.

Facing a young Northwestern team with three freshmen in the starting lineup and only eight scholarship players in uniform, UW had an opportunity to win on the road and stay within striking distance of first place in the Big Ten.

"They are capable of giving you problems," UW senior forward Jared Berggren said. "But at the same time this is a game we feel like we had to win if we want to be there at the end of the conference race.
