It is a sad day around Major League Baseball and the state of California today. Former Angels top prospect Nick Adenhart has been reported dead early this morning after a three-vehicle crash that killed three people, including Adenhart.

The driver causing the accident reportedly fled the scene but was later caught and charged with a felony hit-and-run.

The 22-year-old was an up-and-coming star for the Angels, and just pitched yesterday against the Oakland Athletics.

On behalf of the Bleacher Report community, I wish his family and friends all the best.

RIP, Nick.
