But the first major event of the 2013 calendar started today, when teams could apply the franchise tag to one of their free agents.
The Jaguars have 13 unrestricted free agents but the early indications are they won’t use the franchise tag like they did in 2011 (TE Marcedes Lewis) and 2012 (K Josh Scobee) before agreeing to long-term extensions.
