The Rumor Mill: April 9-10 Edition

Celeste WinchesterSenior Analyst IApril 9, 2009

Hi, people, and welcome to another episode of the Rumor Mill

Let’s get started, shall we?

Line up so far:

Edge vs. Cena in a Last Man Standing Match for the World title

Batista, Triple H, and Shane McMahon against Randy Orton, Ted DiBiase, and Cody Rhodes for the WWE title

ECW Champion Jack Swagger will defend his title

Did the new GM Tiffany let the proverbial cat out of the bag regarding Jack Swagger?
Are we finally going to see Swagger drafted where he can shine with real competition?
It certainly got my attention; that’s for sure.

The card for the April 17 show has been changed. Triple H and The Undertaker were supposed to face Randy Orton and The Big Show. WWE is now advertising Triple H and The Undertaker will face Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase) in a handicap match.

The Draft

I only have one thing to say about the draft. Hopefully this time the draft will stick and we won’t see wrestlers from other brands invade and take the spotlight.

Superstars, Divas, and Icons

In the latest issue of WWE Magazine, Edge stated he was excited to have Christian, his “brother,” back in WWE.

When asked whether he’d be willing to team up with Christian for another TLC match against the Hardy Boyz, Edge said, “I’d love to face those guys in another TLC match. It’s fantastic having Christian back in WWE. But I’d much rather oppose him in the ring than team up again. Hopefully, someday soon I’ll get my chance.”

Candice Michelle

Candice has stated she should be back in action from her ankle injury in three weeks time.

Batista's martial arts coach Marrese Crump has updated his website, which features all the latest of Batista’s training and news.

Batista is said to be featured on the upcoming cover of WWE magazine, taking off Wolverine in a Weapon X experiment thing.Link here

Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka is now the oldest performer to ever wrestle a match at any WrestleMania event.

Honky Tonk Man has updated his website:

“To all my fans, I had a great time at the WrestleMania and HOF weekend events. I was humbled to be with such greats of wrestling history and to be part of history.

"I was honoured and very excited to induct Koko and I hope you all enjoyed it. I made sure to take my time so the words I spoke were absorbed by the fans and to make sure the induction was for Koko and not about HTM.”

Rumor has it: Ric Flair was offered the job of GM of SmackDown but turned it down.

Behind the scenes

Raw ratings are up again could be due to the first RAW after WrestleMania. Raw drew a 3.93 cable rating.

I am curious to see if the same applies to SD and ECW.

Well that’s it for today. Stay turned for more rumors, news and gossip.
