Surrounded by his teammates and mother, Rainier Beach junior guard Shaqquan Aaron committed to Louisville before Saturday’s Sea-King 3A District championship game against Lakeside.

Aaron, one of the area’s leading scorers at 20 points per game, said he felt at home at Louisville and added that he wanted to play for a successful and demanding coach such as Rick Pitino. Aaron, a 6-foot-7 guard, had interest from Syracuse, UCLA, Arizona, UNLV and Washington. He said the opportunity for early playing time was one of his deciding factors, but more important than that was the feeling that Louisville was the right fit for him...
