The New York Mets version of CC proved to be more effective tonight as they win in Cincinnati for the second straight night 9-7.

Carlos Delgado and Carlos Beltran combined for six of the nine runs to give the Mets a 2-0 start for the season. Carlos Delgado hit a home run with a comet's tail landing far into the right field stands to give the Mets a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning. Beltran hits a single up the middle to drive in Murphy and Wright.

Brian Schneider had a good night also. With the bases loaded, Schneider hits a double that skipped by Jay Bruce as Bruce lost his footing clearing the bases and giving the Mets a 9-4 lead.

Mike Pelfrey was struggling throughout the evening giving up a three run blast to Joey Votto. Pelfrey could not find his command and his pitches were wild. Still, the young righthander managed to keep the Mets close as he pitched 5 innings to qualify him for the win.

The bullpen struggled. Parnell came in the sixth and was near flawless. Pedro Feliciano came in the seventh inning and was greeted with 2 runs on 2/3 innings before Green came in get the final out. JJ Putz came in to shut the door on the Reds. Francisco Rodriguez came in shaky but was able to get his second save of the season.

Now the CC Boys have to take a quick sleep in preparation of a possible sweep.

Bi-Polar Oliver Perez will be on the mound.
