Swansea City 0
MOTM: Luis Suarez
Well after a first half which Liverpool completely dominated but led by only one goal at the break, the Reds completely blitzed the Swans after half time.
Consistent pressure eventually made Swansea succumb to giving a penalty away to Luis Suarez, which Steven Gerrard tucked away to open the scoring.
After the restart it took less than half a minute for the Reds to double their lead, full debutant Philippe Coutinho drilling home from the edge of the area for 2-0.
The third and fourth goals swiftly followed as Liverpool showed their vast superiority, Jose Enrique putting the finishing touch on a classy team effort for three and Luis Suarez waltzing in for the fourth. Daniel Sturridge scored a deserved fifth from the penalty spot after substitute Wayne Routledge handballed in the area.
The one sour note for the Reds was a late shoulder dislocation for Fabio Borini, but that aside, it was a first-class performance from Liverpool which moves them up above Swansea and into seventh place.

Liverpool 5 Swansea City 0
90+3'—It comes to nothing though and Swansea play it clear. That should be it.
90+2'—The Reds playing out the game playing keep-ball. Swansea have understandably long given up hope of having an impact on this match. Perhaps one final chance before the full time whistle, it's a Liverpool throw-in on the left.
90'—This is going to be the first time this season the Reds beat a team in the league who are placed above them. These three points will put Liverpool up into seventh place.
Three minutes to be added on
89'—Sturridge and Henderson combine on the halfway line to release Johnson into the opposing half, but he can't outpace two defenders and Swansea clear their lines.
88'—Two minutes left at Anfield. Swansea enjoying their most prolonged spell of possession in the entire game at the moment, but Liverpool are now happy to soak up any pressure from deep and break when they can.
86'—Gerrard for a moment looks as though he will burst past the entire Swansea midfield, but slightly overhits the ball and Bartley can mop up.
84'—Fabio Borini goes crunching into a sliding tackle which he wins, but it's come at a cost—he has injured his own shoulder, likely a dislocation, and he is straight off down the tunnel. Liverpool will see out the final minutes with 10 men.
83'—Routledge curls a shot in from the left edge of the penalty area and Reina is alive to dive and palm the ball to safety.
81'—Borini lays the ball back for Johnson on the edge of the box and his left-foot shot is whipped just past the far post.
Swansea sub: Shechter off, Angel Rangel on.
80'—Liverpool still moving through the gears as they send another attack towards goal. Swansea have another 10 minutes or so to live through.
78'—Johnson is found by Joe Allen and he tries to flick the ball in to Borini, but Bartley just gets a nick on the ball to divert it to his goalkeeper. Borini would love a chance to get his first league goal for the Reds.
Liverpool sub: Fabio Borini on for Luis Suarez, who goes off to a huge standing ovation.
76'—Pablo is booked and then subbed within 10 seconds to sum up a miserable game.
Swansea sub: Pablo off, Nathan Dyer on.
Liverpool well, well on top here all game long.

72'—OFF THE BAR! Almost six for Liverpool and two for Sturridge as he picks up a loose ball and immediately shoots for the far top corner, clipping the crossbar and seeing the ball bounce over.
Gerrard hands over responsibility for the spot kick to Sturridge and the striker makes no mistake, powering his effort into the top corner for 5-0.

Daniel Sturridge penalty, 71 mins
Penalty to Liverpool!
Wayne Routledge ridiculously handballs at the far post from a cross, and Sturridge will take the penalty this time.
70'—Into the final 20 minutes of a game which has long since been won by Liverpool. What else is left in the game?
67'—Lovely play again and it's another chance for Sturridge to hit his fifth Liverpool goal. He exchanges passes with Jordan Henderson before making his way into the area, but Vorm denies him with an outstretched boot.

65'—Glen Johnson mis-hits a crossfield pass which almost troubles Vorm as a shot, before Suarez then spins forward into the area again, causing problems for the umpteenth time today. Swansea have at least stopped the goals going in this half for now.
