Devils coach Pete DeBoer saw his team on the verge of being blown out by the Philadelphia Flyers in the first period tonight at Prudential Center.

Trailing, 2-1, he called a timeout with 8:45 remaining in the opening period. DeBoer and his players did not think the game was over.
