Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers is one of the rising stars in the NBA today, and that was on full display when he broke the ankles of Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Knight during the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge.
Poor Knight thought he could handle the ball skills of Irving and hoped to do so on national television in front of the entire NBA world.
After displaying some sick crossover abilities, Irving faked a drive to the basket and then took a jump step backwards to drain the jumper, hitting nothing but net.
When Irving was done showing his stuff, Knight ended up on the floor with his posterior tasting nothing but the hardwood. While it was extremely embarrassing for Knight, Irving got a great pop from the crowd.
Unfortunately for Knight, this play will make every highlight reel on the planet.
On his next trip down the floor, Knight's teammates made sure he would get his opportunity to return the favor to Irving, but he didn't exactly get even.
Knight would attempt a crossover of his own, but it didn't do much to fake Irving out. Knight then finished the play by draining his respective jumper, although he did it in an ugly fashion by banking it off the glass.
I'm sure he meant to do that.
Irving and Knight would continue to go at each other down the stretch of this game, but Knight would never come close to matching what Irving pulled off. The Cavs star would finish with 32 points in total.
