COLUMBIA, S. C. -- The Dobyns-Bennett soccer team was hit with 42 fouls—including two yellow cards—and settled for a 1-1 tie with Brookland-Cayce on Friday, missing the semifinals of the Palmetto Cup.

Colton Clark got the only goal for D-B, with an assist from Bryce Herlong, but without leading scorer David Geno the Indians could not put enough points on the board to win.

Brookland-Cayce scored first, in the 46th minutes, while Clark's goal came just three minutes later.

D-B, 4-0-2, will play in the fifth-place game Saturday against North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

"One of the officials came and apologized to me after the game for all the fouls,'' said coach Shane Calvert. "The other team had only 13 fouls called against them.''

42-13 fouls is something that could be set to be debatable. Sound Off on this story if you feel like it, it'd be greatly appreciated!
