Italian international and newly acquired AC Milan player Mario Balotelli continues to impress for his new club, scoring yet another goal in the Italian Serie A. Balotelli netted a superb free kick to take his tally for the season to four goals in three matches.
Following what can only be described as a sub-par beginning to the new English Premier League season, Roberto Mancini agreed to part ways with Balotelli. By all accurate accounts, the move back to Italy was the best possible thing for Balotelli.
During his previous stint in Italy, the striker won the treble under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. Although he is a renowned free-kick taker, there was a particular free kick in the UEFA Champions League that year that still comes to mind...this guy could very well become a set-piece specialist.
In the end, Balotelli's effort proved decisive as Milan went on to win by just a single goal in a 2-1 triumph over Parma. Although he won't be present for Milan's clash with Barcelona next week—he is cup tied to Manchester City—he has certainly proved already that he was a brilliant signing for Massimiliano Allegri's side.
Provided he can keep his off-field behavior intact, there is no reason why "Super Mario" cannot reach the summit of world football. After all, he is still just 22 years of age.
