When Arsenal host Bayern Munich on Tuesday in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie, the Gunners will be firm underdogs against the German giants.

But that doesn’t mean Arsenal have no chance.

Manager Arsene Wenger and his players must produce a nearly flawless performance at home in the Emirates Stadium to have any chance of advancing to the quarterfinals, because in three more weeks they have to head to Bayern’s Allianz Arena.

Bayern will obviously be strong. Heading into the weekend, the Bavarians had lost just twice in all competitions this season. That’s an impressive record, but those two losses tell us something about how Arsenal should approach the match—even if it means changing tactics a bit.

In the clip above, B/R world football lead writer Michael Cummings discusses his picks for some of the game’s biggest factors, including defensive consistency, Arsenal’s left-back selection, Jack Wilshere’s fitness and finally, rest and recovery time.
