This is not the type of news you wanted to hear so early in the season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that Brandon Webb will miss his next scheduled start Saturday against the Dodgers due to stiffness in his throwing shoulder that he initially felt during his opening day loss to Colorado.

Webb lasted only four innings and gave up six ER.

Apparently, some residual stiffness remained in the shoulder this morning. Webb will be replaced in the rotation by Yusmeiro Petit.

Keep your fingers crossed.
