Samuel Umtiti Scores Stunning Goal for Lyon Against Tottenham

The headlines for Tottenham's 2-1 win over Lyon on Wednesday night will be dominated by three unbelievable goals.

First, Gareth Bale struck with a 40-yard free kick that Cristiano Ronaldo would have been proud of, then Samuel Umtiti responded with his own little piece of magic.

Bale won it at the death with another sumptuous strike, but Umtiti's wonder goal was the finest on the night.

Lyon had been frustrating offensively all game long. Bafetimbi Gomis failed to make anything happen and scuffed all of his chances tamely wide, while Alexandre Lacazette offered no end product either.

Lisandro Lopez looked both toothless and disinterested stuck out on the left, and the task fell to their young left-back to grab a vital away goal.

Good buildup play between Gomis and Lacazette on the right gave the former a chance to clip the ball in, but William Gallas was equal to the cross.

His header was only a half clearance, however, and Umtiti arrived on the far corner of the penalty area and met the ball on the half volley.

The contact was sublime. The 'keeper? No chance.
