Just because a big name is available at the NBA trade deadline doesn't mean that the player in question should be dealt. 

In some cases, the potential returns just won't be enough. Other times, the sellers would be better off waiting a little bit longer to assess their talent. There's always the offseason and next year's trade deadline to make a more educated decision.

But when the money works and the basketball product improves, it's an absolute necessity to pull the trigger on a deadline deal.
