When it really came down to it, the return of sophomore point guard Myck Kabongo from suspension and forward Jonathan Holmes from a hand injury didn’t matter much.

Instead, in double overtime, the Longhorns were left with the skeleton team they had played most of their season with, the result of Kabongo and Holmes both fouling out in the first overtime session.
