Post-game thoughts.
Carolina fought hard in this game, but was undone by poor free-throw shooting and some suspect decision-making in the second half.
Duke comes away with the win, but warning signs persist. The Blue Devils are a bad rebounding team. Period. It showed tonight against an athletic Tar Heel team that looked hungry from the tip.
Duke also struggled for an extended stretch with star forward Mason Plumlee on the pine. Plumlee was in foul trouble early, and the Blue Devils' lack of frontcourt depth showed.
When these teams meet again in Chapel Hill on March 9th, I have half a mind to pick the 'Heels. They looked like the more complete team for long stretches of this game, and might have won it with some better shooting from the charity stripe.
Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports:
Game over. Duke beats UNC at Cameron. Tar Heels fought. Did not embarrass themselves.

Bizarre scene at the end. Students looked like they wanted to rush the court but Coach K waved them off.
Seth Davis, Sports Illustrated:
You see what Miami did to Carolina. You see what Duke did. You see why I voted Miami ahead of Duke.

Duke has looked much sharper this half, obviously. UNC at least managed to punch back in a tough setting for once.

Duke 67, UNC 61 (37.5 second Second Half)
Sulaimon sinks both FTs.
Duke 65, UNC 61 (37.5 seconds left)
Duke runs the shot clock down to zero and takes a wild three. Carolina commits a needless foul on the rebound. Big mistake. And Duke is in command.
Seth Davis (Sports Illustrated):
Unless we get some wacky dramatics here, I think it's safe to say this one isn't going into the time capsule. Been pretty ugly.

Hot enough inside Cameron that condensation falling from roof. Also, PA just told folks not to throw stuff on the court.
