Keys to the Game
You want to know what the keys to the game were? Well, quite frankly, there weren't any.
The Celtics somehow scored more points than the Bulls. More of their shots accidentally went in, because neither of these teams were making shots on purpose tonight.
Well, I suppose you can look at the fact that the Bulls had 20 turnovers and call that the reason for their loss, but then you can go down and look at the Celtics getting out-rebounded by 10 boards and criticize them for that.
In the end, it was Boston who was able to squeeze more shots out of the night, and make more three-pointers.
Both teams shot atrocious percentages, Boston leading the way at 36.8 percent from the field, and Chicago coming in just behind them at 36.5 percent.
All I know is you should get ready to watch this instant classic on an NBA TV replay any minute now, because it was a doozy.
Celtics "win," I guess. If anyone really wins that game.

Pauly Pierce makes two freebies and the Celtics foul Nate Robinson after he crosses half court. Nate makes one of two, Chicago somehow ends up with the ball, Belinelli gets blocked at the free throw line, Gibson picks the ball up and misses a three at the buzzer.
A weird ending to a weirder game.

Nate Robinson chucks a three and misses, but eight Bulls hands tap it in right at the bucket.

Belinelli hurls the ball over his head as he's falling out of bounds and it goes in. Why wouldn't it?
Aaaand a patented Garnett baseline 15-footer at the end of the shot clock puts Boston back up by three.
Celtics 69, Bulls 66 with 0:19 left in the fourth.

And a Celtics five-second violation, the only thing this game has been missing. Chicago has a chance to tie it up, if they think they can make a three-pointer.
Celtics 67, Bulls 64 with 0:48 left in the fourth.
Points on the board for the Bulls. That means it'll only take seven more shots before they finally sink another.
Celtics 67, Bulls 64 with 0:48 left in the fourth.
It's only a five-point game, but does it feel that way?
Don't know how Chicago's going to manifest the 18 possessions they need to close this five-point gap.

Officiating in this game has been incredibly strange. Slight bump in the post? That'll be two shots. Get tackled at the three-point line? Play on, playa.
Celtics 67, Bulls 62 with 1:28 left in the fourth.
Jimmy Butler cannot guard Kevin Garnett. That is all.
Oh, and Bulls turnover, so there's that too.
Celtics 67, Bulls 62 with 2:00 left in the fourth.

A Paul Pierce three hits the rim 49 times and eventually falls. Of course it does.
Celtics 65, Bulls 62 with 2:46 left in the fourth.
Something tells me this game goes into quadruple overtime, then ends 94-93.
Celtics 62, Bulls 60 with 3:28 left in the fourth.

Jason Terry with a three that accidentally went in. Boston's shooting 30 percent for three, which based on the way this game has gone is not too shabby.

Now we've got a Chicago run happening. And by run I mean they're closing the five-point gap they found themselves in.
Of course, Jimmy Butler missing free throws doesn't help.
Celtics 59, Bulls 58 with 4:19 left in the fourth.
B-b-b-bulls turnover! They're up to 21 for the game.
Celtics 59, Bulls 54 with 5:02 left in the fourth.

In other words, ain't no basketball like pre-All-Star Break basketball, 'cause pre-All-Star Break basketball don't stop.
Celtics 57, Bulls 54 with 5:47 left in the fourth.

Avery Bradley gives the Celtics the lead.
Oh, that's of course followed up by a Bulls turnover, a Celtics miss, a Bulls turnover and then a Celtics turnover.
This is still my favorite game of the year.
Celtics 55, Bulls 54 with 6:45 left in the fourth.

And whaddaya know, a Bulls turnover, followed by a Celtics missed shot. And that's followed up by a Bulls turnover.
For those of you keeping track at home, that's 16 turnovers for the Bulls, and 30.8 percent shooting from the floor for Boston.
Bulls 54, Celtics 53 with 7:48 left in the fourth.

And the Celtics are storming back, finally breaking the 50-point barrier on Brandon Bass' jumper. Boston is back by only three points.
Bulls 54, Celtics 51 with 9:22 left in the fourth quarter.

Carlos Boozer leads all scorers with a hefty nine points to start out the fourth quarter. Jimmy Butler and Marco Belinelli have seven points each and Joakim Noah's up to 13 rebounds.
Brandon Bass is up to eight points for the Celtics, as is Avery Bradley. Jason Terry and Courtney Lee each have seven points and Kevin Garnett is up with six points and 10 rebounds.
Bulls 52, Celtics 47 with 10:34 left in the fourth.
Do you believe in miracles? YES!
Both teams are under 50 points at the start of the fourth quarter. This is a dream come true.
Bulls 49, Celtics 43 at the start of the fourth.
@hpbasketball Oh look its 47-41 in this CHI-BOS game coming up on halfti- END OF THE 3RD QUARTER?!?!

Luol Deng is still trying to ruin my dreams.
Bulls 49, Celtics 41 with 1:09 left in the third.

When Jason Collins is taking jumpers you know you're settling for bad shots.
Bulls 47, Celtics 41 with 2:14 left in the third.
Jared Wickerham/Getty Images
Luol Deng is trying to ruin my dream of seeing both these teams score fewer than 50 points through three quarters.
Bulls 45, Celtics 41 with 3:48 left in the third.
Carlos Boozer dunk! Points happened!
Brandon Bass turnaround! More points happened!
Bulls 41, Celtics 41 with 5:37 left in the third.
These two teams just need to agree that neither can score and just give each other mandatory free throws every two minutes.
Bulls 39, Celtics 39 with 6:17 left in the third.
