The 2013 WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was already setting up to be a solid show, but the inclusion of the United States Championship match between defending champion Antonio Cesaro and The Miz (h/t WWE.com) is a great addition.

The midcard—led by this title match featuring Cesaro and The Miz—is helping to turn this from an above-average secondary show to a road-to-WrestleMania-worthy PPV.

While there are serious questions about which of Sunday’s combatants will walk away with the US title, the WWE Universe knows that the match should be exciting and the storyline should keep the fans hooked all the way through WrestleMania 29.

Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans

When: Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET

Live Stream: WWE.com has PPV for $44.99

What A Win Means For Antonio Cesaro

Antonio Cesaro has been the US Champion for more than an astounding 178 days so far, and another win over The Miz would be not only great for the young star’s development, but great for the validity of his title reign.

If Cesaro wins at Elimination Chamber and goes on to defend the title until WrestleMania 29, he would have been the champion for 230 days; that's the tenth-longest reign in history.

History is within distance, and Cesaro will not only want to beat the Miz because of their bitter rivalry, but because the in-ring technician will etch his name in the history books and bring validity to the United States Championship.

Cesaro must win Sunday.

What A Win Means For The Miz

The Miz has been in no long-term feuds worth noting since working with R-Truth against The Rock and John Cena last year, but winning the US title would at least be a definitive direction for the charismatic star.

The feud would not be over if The Miz won the title, likely just adding even more intensity and fire to Cesaro’s already impressive style and attitude, and it would keep both men busy and in the spotlight through the most important time of the year.

As much as a longer title reign would be better for both Cesaro and the title, letting The Miz walk away with the win here builds serious hype around the duo’s rematch at WrestleMania 29.

Prediction: Antonio Cesaro Retains the US Championship

This is a tough call, but all signs continue to point to Cesaro retaining his title for the second time over The Miz at Elimination Chamber. The title retention will likely result in a change of stipulation and The Miz getting one final shot at WrestleMania 29.

That’s where The Miz will finally capture the US title.

Cesaro has shined as the US Champion, but there are bigger and better things on the horizon for the Swiss Superman. The Miz will likely have a great run with the US title, but it will be Cesaro that launches into the upper echelon of the WWE.
