Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2013: Kate Upton Is Ideal Candidate for 50th Edition
If you're going to make your 50th anniversary edition special, you might as well put the sexiest woman on the cover.
For the second year in a row, the beautiful Kate Upton will grace the cover of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue.
According to USA Today, Upton is just the fifth model in the history of the SI magazine to earn the honors in consecutive years.
The sports publication certainly made the right decision in choosing Upton to don one of the most famous yearly spectacles.
It's not only about being the sexiest woman on the planet, the 20-year-old has been everywhere the past two years.
From reportedly dating MLB hurler Justin Verlander, to making an appearance in The Three Stooges, Upton's lovely face can be recognized outside of the modeling realm.
Upton played in the 2011 celebrity softball game during MLB All-Star weekend and even made an appearance on Tosh.0.
She has an incredible personality. Just watch her showcase her moves at a Los Angeles Clippers game back in April 2011.
Leading up to the announcement of who would appear on the cover—which was unveiled on CBS' Late Show with David Letterman—Katherine Webb was considered a contender for the cover spot.
The girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron made her claim to fame this year, most notably during Alabama's win over Notre Dame in the 2013 BCS National Championship game.
Nonetheless, Upton came out on top and I don't think any of us are regretting the editors' decision.
Upton is one of sexiest and spunkiest models in the game right now, and at the mere age of 20, she will have an opportunity to grace the cover of the SI mag for years to come.
And I don't think any of us are complaining.
