Sports Illustrated's 2013 Swimsuit Issue promises to live up to the massive amount of hype it's been receiving over the past few days.
In addition to a photo shoot with Kate Upton on arguably the most dangerous of the seven continents, this year's edition will include some of the world's most beautiful models, as well as the much-anticipated body paint section along with some polarizing shots of Katherine Webb.
With the emergence of ESPN The Magazine's annual Body Issue, SI has been forced to pull out all the stops this year, and that's a beautiful thing for us consumers.
American model Kate Upton is on fire right now.
The 20-year-old has been picking up steam ever since landing the SI Swimsuit Issue cover last year, making cameos across Hollywood and starring in big-time Super Bowl ads. Upton has become very recognizable, and those who purchase this winter's Swimsuit Issue will likely never forget what she looks like.
Upton will certainly steal the show in this year's edition, kicking off the page turning with another memorable cover pose.
Here's a look from Bleacher Report:
Beyond the cover, Upton will appear in numerous shots in chilly Antarctica, as well as some other body paint photos. She's all the rage right now, and that's why Kate Upton is sure to be among the best from this year's issue.
The body paint section of SI's Swimsuit Issue has become a staple in recent years, but some would argue that it's tasteless and not at all relevant to swimsuit modeling.
Nonetheless, many consumers seek out this section of the issue, wanting to once again see how SI is able to pull off such an edgy shoot. Regardless of whether you or I agree with it, the body paint section lures a large audience to SI's beloved Swimsuit Issue.
This year, a handful of SI's models will appear in body paint, including Kate Upton and Anne V, two of the most recognizable faces in the business today.
Anyone who tuned in to watch Alabama destroy Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game last January is familiar with Katherine Webb, the girlfriend of Crimson Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron. And although Webb won't be splattered in body paint in this year's SI Swimsuit issue, she will be scantily clad.
Here's a look at the former Miss Alabama breaking hearts across the Yellowhammer State (via Yahoo! Sports):
Webb attended Auburn University but has been doing the unthinkable lately, cheering on the rival University of Alabama to show support for her boyfriend.
After this year's SI Swimsuit Issue hits newsstands, at least Auburn and Alabama fans will be able to agree on something.
