Samed Yesil is set to undergo surgery after the young Liverpool striker was ruled out for the season after rupturing his cruciate ligament.

The Liverpool Echo report that the 18-year-old, who arrived at Anfield for £1million last summer from German club Bayer Leverkusen, faces at least six months on the sidelines and a lengthy rehabilitation programme.
