Graham, a self-confessed Newcastle United supporter, denied that he had a difficult decision to make last month, even though his goal against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup semi-final was instrumental in getting Swansea City to Wembley.

Swansea will be favourites to lift the trophy and qualify for the Europa League when they face League Two giantkillers Bradford City this month. But Graham, who had lost his place in the starting XI under Michael Laudrup, does not have any regrets about missing Swansea’s historic day, as he believes he would have been watching from the bench, even if he had postponed his departure.
