When Utah Jazz point guard Mo Williams was lost due to a severely sprained thumb back in Dec. 22, 2012, it looked as if the team would struggle to make the playoffs this season without a reliable backup.

Interestingly, Utah has stepped up to the challenge without its starting point guard, going 14-8 since Williams’ injury. In fact – and not to say that the Jazz are better off without him – the team has gone 17-9 in games where Williams has been in street clothes.
