Since Illinois had lost six of its last seven games to tumble from the top 15 to the fringes of the NCAA tournament bubble, Thursday night's victory over top-ranked Indiana was a potential season saver. As a result, it's no surprise first-year coach John Groce was very emotional about the victory afterward.
