WWE Studios have released a poster for the company's upcoming film, The Call, starring Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin (via Twitter).

The dark red, gloomy-looking poster shows a closeup of Berry's face, with the ominous tagline: "There are 188 million 911 calls a year...This one made it personal."

The Call (formerly The Hive) focuses on a 911 phone operator, played by Berry, who receives a frantic call from a teenage girl (Breslin) claiming she has been kidnapped by a serial killer. Berry's character is soon horrified to realize that the killer is a figure from her past.

The film is due out in theaters on March 15:

As noted last year, David Otunga has a role in the film as a police officer attempting to help Berry recover the girl. The lawyer-turned-wrestler can briefly be seen in the trailer toward the end.

As reported by Variety, WWE Studios joined with Troika Pictures last year to co-produce and co-finance the film, which is being distributed by Sony Pictures.

The Call marks one of WWE Studios' highest-profile movies to date. The presence of Berry, a major name in Hollywood, and the quality of talent involved (acclaimed filmmaker Brad Anderson is directing) seems to guarantee this.

Notably, ads for the film have been been airing regularly on U.S. television. The WWE will no doubt also be airing promos and trailers for the movie on Raw and SmackDown as we inch closer to its release date.

The Call probably won't win any Oscars any time soon or give the critics something to rave about, but it looks like an entertaining—if cliched—popcorn flick.

And unlike most films churned out from the company's movie division, it looks to have mass appeal to audiences.
