The offseason edition of Colin Kaepernick is here—now equipped with more tattoos.

The San Francisco 49ers quarterback is coming off a season when he shot to fame after usurping former starter Alex Smith. Unfortunately for the Niners, his rise to prominence ended in a humbling Super Bowl defeat.

Well, he turned that frown upside down in the tattoo parlor with a design that envelops the already bombastic "Against All Odds" script adorning his chest.

Here is the marvel, via an Instagram post from Kaep himself.

The work was done by Orly Locquiao, who Kaepernick credits in the post. Locquiao later posted this picture of the tattooing process.

For comparison, here is a "before" picture taken from American Live Wire

Not being a tattoo person myself, I'm usually inclined to clown others' choice of ink, but I don't see anything wrong with this work. I might be jaded after covering tat jobs like this, but there is something very fitting about Kaepernick embracing one of his defining features.

It's just another way that shows how diverse NFL quarterbacks are. Some can rocket the ball halfway across the field. Others can run for 15 yards in the blink of an eye.

And some can do both, all while sporting epic art on their bodies.
