DENVER — Bouncing in an out of the lineup with no sign that he would earn a regular spot, Devante Smith-Pelly was demoted to the minor leagues after making the Ducks out of their brief training camp in January.

Smith-Pelly had not recorded a point in the five games he played with the Ducks and was logging barely eight minutes a night on the fourth line. Coach Bruce Boudreau said the point of the move was for the young rugged winger to get more ice time.
