The Indians signed a pair of players – outfielder Jeremy Hermida and catcher Omir Santos – to minor league contracts with invitations to major league spring training camp Tuesday.

Hermida, 29, is a career .257 hitter with 65 home runs and 250 RBIs in 632 big league games with the Marlins, Red Sox, A’s, Reds and Padres. He was Florida’s first-round draft pick – 11th overall – in 2002, spending his first eight professional seasons with the Marlins.
