BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- After years of the University of Alabama's football recruiting expenses rising exponentially, costs declined in 2011-12. Still, $930,997 spent on football again exceeded what Alabama paid to recruit all of its athletes only five years earlier ($857,670) in the final season before Nick Saban arrived.
