Well folks, it sounds as if Terry Funk will be a lock for inducting Mick Foley at this year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
As Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com reports:
Terry Funk has been pulled by WWE from his scheduled non-wrestling appearances for Pro Wrestling Syndicate over Wrestlemania weekend. It would appear he'll be signing at AXXESS and likely inducting Mick Foley into the WWE Hall of Fame. It's a shame he was pulled as the PWS shows were the first events Funk was booked to appear on since the AWE Night of Legends PPV a few years back where he lost to Tommy Dreamer.
I concur with Johnson's disappointment, as I am planning on attending one of the PWS shows that weekend and am not thrilled to hear that Funk will no longer be there. In case you were unaware, Funk was slated to play the role of PWS Commissioner for the weekend.
Overall, PWS had a star-studded "Legends" card lined up for this event, but with Funk out and "Superstar" Billy Graham's health in question, Bret Hart appears to be the only lock for that weekend. Which is a bit surprising, considering he will also be signing at AXXESS for the WWE.
Ultimately, I am hopeful that PWS has something else up its sleeve, as this stands to be a profitable weekend for the company and they can't afford to have any more stars back out. However, if they manage to lose Hart, they still have a solid wrestling card featuring John Morrison, Matt Hardy, "Hurricane" Helms and Colt Cabana amongst others.
So, even if the company can't provide big name stars from the past, they will certainly come through with some current fan favorites.
In the end, PWS should have received a refund from Funk or the WWE and can now spend that money on a comparable star. Any way you slice it, PWS will surely pull out of this on top, as the company has a solid management team that knows what its fan base wants.
