NBA's Top Plays and Sickest Dunks from Week of Jan. 28

The NBA regular season is full of great games, but it is the individual plays that keep the fans' attention.

People go to games with the mindset that something dramatic could happen at any second. Top athletes compete against one another at a fast pace, and explosive plays are always promised.

There was plenty of that this week as the players came through with some big-time dunks and a few other great showings.

Here are the Top 10 plays of the week of Jan. 28. 

10. Gerald Wallace

Covered by LeBron James? No big deal.

Weakside help by Chris Bosh? Not a problem.

This is what Gerald Wallace thought during the first quarter of the Brooklyn Nets loss to the Miami Heat.

He thundered down a slam and pumped up the bench in one motion.

9. James Harden

Based on the announcer's reaction, you would think this was a generic layup. However, the degree of difficulty was actually pretty high.

James Harden splits the defenders and then elevates for the dunk.

Bringing the ball way back also added a little extra flair. 

8. Danilo Gallinari

Danilo Gallinari is known as a shooter, but he went hard to the basket on this one.

He also needed every bit of his length as he took a shove from Greg Smith and still got to the rim. 

7. Taj Gibson

There are few players in the NBA stronger than Taj Gibson.

He proved that once again when Anthony Tolliver had his arm completely in the forward's face. Gibson was able to power through for the slam. 

6. Brandon Knight

The dunk at the end was a nice throwdown by Brandon Knight over Pau Gasol.

However, Andre Drummond was also quite impressive with the steal, dribbling and then passing to the guard.

When these two young players were drafted, few would have thought the center would be the one running the fast break and dishing it to the point guard.  

5. Terrence Ross

In the final minute of a blowout win over the Los Angeles Clippers, the Toronto Raptors could afford to have a little fun.

Terrence Ross made his closing arguments on this game with a nice finish on an alley-oop, much to the delight of everyone in attendance. 

4. Chandler Parsons

File this in the category of "Where did he come from?"

Chandler Parsons seemingly comes out of nowhere on an Omer Asik free throw to have a pretty impressive put-back dunk.

I guess when a 55-percent free-throw shooter is at the line, you can assume a miss.  

3. Ricky Rubio

Ricky Rubio comes through with not one, but two great clips this week.

He starts with a fake behind-the-back pass that ended with an actual assist. 

He also had this nice between-the-legs pass.

Amazingly, he never seems to look at anyone on his team but always knows where they are at all times. 

2. Earl Clark

Kobe Bryant once again shows off his new-found passing skills with this incredible alley-oop.

With only 0.4 seconds left in the half, Bryant makes a perfect pass from almost halfcourt to Earl Clark, who finishes before time runs out.

Both sides of this play were extremely impressive.  

1. Jeff Green x 2

The top play is actually two top plays from the same game by Jeff Green.

On both monster dunks, the Boston Celtics forward gets his head near the rim and throws each down with authority.

Green finished with a game-high 17 in this one as he helped continue the squad's recent winning streak.
