Bud Light's “Lucky Chair” Commercial Feat. Stevie Wonder Is Very Strange
It’s all black cats, voodoo dolls and superstition for Budweiser this year.
Playing off their “It’s only weird if it doesn’t work” campaign, Anheiser Busch’s new Super Bowl commercial is going with a film-noire feel to entice beer-drinkers.
This Bud Light spot shows two friends pilfering a lucky chair from one of their amigos and hoofing it across the city of New Orleans to a witch doctor (played by musician Stevie Wonder) and his lovely witch-ish assistant (actress Zoe Saldana).
Saldana works her magic on the moldering corduroy chair and poof! The luck is gone.
The friends sneak the ugly love seat back into its rightful place, where their buddy finds his “lucky chair” has been sucked clean of any and all fortune.
But you know what they say—bringing a nasty chair across town to a blind man in an abandoned house is only weird if it doesn’t work.
