If you thought Sketchers would come away from Super Bowl Sunday with one of the best commercials of the day, go ahead and raise your hand.

Now for all you liars out there, put your hands down.

Let's face it: Sketchers isn't the coolest shoe company around. If you're looking for something to run in, you're probably going to go to Nike, Adidas, Reebok or even get yourself a nice pair of Vapora Sports

Sketchers, on the other hand, is more known for having a shoe that comes closer to resembling an elevator shoe than something you might try to exercise in.

But with one 30-second ad on the most crucial day of ads, Sketchers may have quickly changed all of those perceptions.

Take a look:

Ding ding ding. We have ourselves a winner.

The best part comes early on. For the first 10 seconds, you have no idea what you're watching. It's Super Bowl Sunday, so it's obviously a mockumentary, but where could they be going with this? Then Adam Morrison enters the screen, and you instantly know it's going to be a hit.

OK, it's not actually Adam Morrison. But the way the guy is running—head down, arms pumping furiously, exerting himself seemingly way too much—is completely reminiscent of the former Gonzaga star's goofy style.

At least for me, that drew what you would call an "LOL."

Then, after tying up the cheetah—I guess that cheetah should have taped a cheetah to its back—the man gets up and gives the deer a point and wink that simply says: "I got you, bro."

Of course, the deer winks back.

Genius.

The commercial ends with a simple look at the Sketchers Go Run 2, which, much to my surprise, doesn't look like an elevator shoe. Much to the contrary of what "Me 30 Seconds Ago" thought, it looks like a simple, sleek shoe that I would undoubtedly run in

The 30-second spot was funny, it was simple and it did a good job selling its product.

Mission: accomplished. Sketchers Style.
