Chris Bosh has been spending a lot of time on television lately, most recently with his guest appearance in the Disney Channel show Jessie, and now with a hilarious Foot Locker commercial alongside Ray Allen.
I'm not sure if Bosh ended up stealing all of the kids in the commercial, or if they just decided to follow him around because he looks like he'd be a cartoon dinosaur mascot for a cereal company at this point, but it's a good thing they did.
The commercial itself makes little sense, and that's what seems to make commercials so great these days.
He does try to go a bit too Blake Griffin with the straight-faced, ultra-serious presentation, but in the end, it's funny just because he's Chris Bosh.
On top of that, I'm pretty sure he's holding his son throughout the commercial, so we've got a bit of a Will Smith-Jaden Smith dynamic working here. The only difference is that Bosh was never a rapper, and Bosh's son Jackson hasn't ruined a Karate Kid movie yet.
The only thing that's unsettling to me about the commercial is what happens to Rick Springfield's mouth when he starts chomping down on the ice from the bathtub. It doesn't seem like something that they would have arbitrarily distorted, but his mouth gets so stretched out that it can't possibly be normal.
I'm all for Bosh the commercial actor. It seems like his talents as a weird dude are perfectly utilized in this kind of setting.
