Needing a big hug after two games escaped them in controversial fashion this week, the Dallas Mavericks prevented Friday's game from being decided by a referee's whistle.

O.J. Mayo scored 20 points to lead another balanced attack as the Mavs played nearly a flawless second half in thumping the Phoenix Suns 109-99 at US Airways Center.
