It was clear in my conversation this week with Tampa Bay Buccaneers Chief Operating Officer Brian Ford that, for a while, the team thought long and hard about embarking on an ambitious multimillion-dollar makeover at Raymond James Stadium by now.

But with its significant decision this week to put all food and beverage, retail and merchandising in the trusted hands of Philadelphia-based Aramark Sports & Entertainment, the club decided it would gain a lot by putting the new concessionaire in place before renovations began.
